Consumers are being advised to obtain life insurance as one-third do not have a sufficient financial safety net if their main income ceases to exist.
According to Scottish Provident, 31 per cent of Brits do not currently have a safety net in place in case the main breadwinner falls ill or dies, which means they would not be able to maintain their standard of living.
