Mortgage lending rose to its highest level for 12 months – but experts warned the sector is set to slow down throughout the rest of 2010.
The £13.6 billion total for July represented a 5% rise on June lending and a third consecutive month of increases, but was 4% lower than the £14 billion dished out in July 2009, the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) said.
